What Is a Thorn Letter?

A real question that needs wisdom, clarity, and care.

A Thorn Letter is a real-life question, struggle, or situation involving money, family, faith, marriage, business, career, or another part of life that feels difficult to navigate alone.

Bri responds with biblical wisdom, practical financial guidance, and honest perspective to help you think through the situation with greater clarity.

Dear Bri,

I want to help my family, but I am beginning to feel like their financial needs are keeping me from building a stable future of my own. How do I know when helping has gone too far?

What You Can Share

Your Thorn Letter can begin with whatever feels difficult to untangle.

You do not need to have the perfect words or know exactly what kind of guidance you need. Simply share the situation as honestly as you can.

Money and Debt

Budgeting, credit cards, loans, financial mistakes, saving, spending, or feeling overwhelmed by money.

Marriage and Relationships

Financial disagreements, hidden debt, unequal responsibilities, boundaries, or difficult conversations with someone you love.

Parenting and Family

Raising children, helping parents, college costs, family pressure, inheritance, caregiving, or generational expectations.

Career and Business

Career changes, income decisions, entrepreneurship, burnout, workplace challenges, or uncertainty about your next move.

Faith and Stewardship

Tithing, obedience, contentment, generosity, trusting God, or trying to make a wise decision without compromising your faith.

Life Decisions

A complicated situation that does not fit neatly into one category but still needs wisdom, clarity, and an honest perspective.

Your situation does not need to sound dramatic or extraordinary. If it has been weighing on you, it is worth sharing.

Your Privacy Matters

You can share your story without sharing your identity.

Your name and email are not required. Leave the email field blank if you would prefer to submit your Thorn Letter anonymously.

Before You Begin

Help Bri understand the heart of the situation.

You do not need to write perfectly. A little context can help Bri respond with greater care and clarity.

  • What decision or situation are you facing?
  • Who else is affected?
  • What have you already tried?
  • What question would you most like Bri to answer?

Please avoid sharing full names, account numbers, addresses, passwords, or other sensitive identifying information.

Include your email only if you are comfortable with the 13:22 Life team contacting you about your submission.

Submitting a Thorn Letter does not create a professional, financial, legal, tax, or advisory relationship. Responses are educational and general in nature.
