Episode 7 Releasing Control: Faith Over Force

Episode 7 Releasing Control: Faith Over Force

💭 Introduction

Are you trying to do everything yourself… and wearing yourself out in the process?

In Episode 7 of the 13:22 Life Podcast, we’re talking about releasing control… a lesson God is walking me through in real time. From pushing through exhaustion to battling the planner mentality, I share what it looks like to actually trust God with your schedule, your business, your family, and your peace.

This isn’t a “sit back and do nothing” episode. It’s about realigning your efforts with God’s will and understanding when to let go of your need to control outcomes… especially when obedience doesn’t make sense.

  • The biblical foundation of rest, release, and obedience

📌 Favorite Quote

“Releasing control isn’t being lazy… it’s saying, ‘God, I trust You to do more than I ever could.’”

📝 Real Talk Reflection

This episode came from a real place. I’ve been walking through this lesson with God… not just hearing it in prayer, but seeing it in my everyday life. Releasing control looks like going to bed when He says go to bed… and trusting that He’ll send the right people to get the work done. It looks like missing a networking event to rest and not apologizing for it. It looks like letting go of revenge and choosing peace. It’s not easy. But it’s freeing.

I’m still a CPA. I still love a plan. But I’m learning that my backup plans don’t compare to God’s divine direction. When I finally surrendered, He sent help. He made space. He filled my calendar. And He showed me that I don’t have to carry it all. Neither do you.

So what does releasing control look like for you? Is it trusting God with your finances? Your business? Your timeline? Think about it… and pray about it.

Episode 6 Delayed Obedience = Delayed Blessings

Episode 6 Delayed Obedience = Delayed Blessings

💭 Introduction

Is your delay costing you more than you realize?

In Episode 6 of the 13:22 Life Podcast, we dive into the hard truth that delayed obedience is still disobedience. We often say we’re “waiting on God,” but sometimes… He’s really waiting on us. In this episode, I unpack what happened when I delayed, what we learn from Jonah’s story, and how disobedience doesn’t just affect us, but others too.

If you’ve ever hesitated to obey what God clearly told you to do, this message is your reminder: there’s purpose in His timing. And your next blessing might be tied to your next act of obedience.

✨ Episode Highlights

  • How delayed obedience can create spiritual and emotional consequences
  • Lessons from Jonah’s journey… and how his delay affected an entire city
  • The connection between obedience and divine timing
  • How fear, pride, or confusion lead us to delay obedience
  • Encouragement for course-correcting when you’ve waited too long

📌 Favorite Quote

“Delayed obedience is still disobedience… and it may cost you more than time.”

📝 Reflection

One of the hardest things to accept is that the longer I delayed, the heavier the consequences became. Delayed obedience can result in missed blessings, unnecessary detours, and even bringing storms into the lives of those around us. Jonah didn’t just delay… he ran. And look what happened. God had to use a storm and a fish to get him back on track.

But here’s the good news: God still used Jonah. And He can still use you. If you’ve delayed obeying something God told you to do… whether it’s a conversation, a step of faith, or a shift in direction… it’s not too late. Grace is still available. Just move.

This episode isn’t about shame. It’s about urgency. Because the sooner you say yes, the sooner God can do what He’s been trying to do through you.

Episode 5 L.O.T. Lifestyle

Episode 5 L.O.T. Lifestyle

In Episode 5 of the 13:22 Life Podcast, we unpack what it means to live a L.O.T. lifestyle… a life where you Listen, Obey, and Trust God. This episode is a bold reminder that obedience isn’t optional when you’re walking by faith. If you’ve ever felt stuck in a cycle of overthinking or disobedience, this conversation is going to meet you where you are.

✨ Episode Highlights

  • What the L.O.T. lifestyle means: Listen, Obey, Trust
  • Why obedience often comes before understanding
  • How delayed obedience is still disobedience
  • Breaking the habit of overanalyzing God’s instructions
  • How to develop spiritual sensitivity so you can hear and respond quickly

📌 Favorite Quote

“Faith that moves mountains often starts with obedience that doesn’t make sense.”

📝 Reflection

Living a L.O.T. lifestyle isn’t just about hearing from God… it’s about responding with courage and trust. I’ve seen the fruit of obedience in moments when I was terrified, unsure, and flat-out unwilling… but chose to trust anyway. And I’ve also seen what happens when I delay. I miss divine timing. I lose momentum. And sometimes, I cause unnecessary storms.

Maybe you’re in a place right now where God has already given you the instruction… and He’s just waiting on your yes. If that’s you, this episode is your confirmation. Obedience always brings clarity. It’s not our job to have the full picture… it’s our job to take the first step.

And when you live this way? You experience peace, favor, and purpose in a whole new way.

Episode 2 How to Please God

Episode 2 How to Please God

💭 Introduction

Have you ever wrestled with whether your efforts are actually pleasing to God?

In Episode 2 of the 13:22 Life Podcast, we’re getting to the heart of something every believer asks at some point: how to please God. I share my own struggles with performance-based Christianity… trying to get everything “right” outwardly but still feeling distant from God inwardly.

This episode is a gentle but real reminder that God isn’t impressed by how much you do… He’s after your heart. So if you’ve been feeling worn out by striving, or unsure if you’re walking in obedience or just people-pleasing, I invite you to lean into this conversation.

✨ Episode Highlights

  • How to please God without falling into religious performance
  • The power of obedience over approval
  • Why surrender speaks louder than outward action
  • Signs you may be pleasing people more than God
  • Practical ways to realign your heart with God’s will

📌 Favorite Quote

“Pleasing God isn’t about being perfect… it’s about being surrendered.”

📝 Reflection

So often we overcomplicate how to please God. We build checklists. We try to say the “right” things. But Scripture reminds us again and again… God looks at the heart. He values humility, surrender, and honest faith more than polished routines.

One moment that deeply shaped me was realizing I could be doing everything right on the outside… showing up for church, reading the Word, serving… and still be disconnected from God because I hadn’t surrendered the one thing He was asking of me. Pleasing Him meant letting go of my control and trusting Him with outcomes.

If you’ve ever felt that, this episode is for you. It’s not about guilt… it’s about grace and growing closer to a God who cares more about your heart than your hustle.
